Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Comparing the Small Forward Position

This game is going to be full crucial battles, but the connection between the two captains is really the primary focus. In desperate moments, you need the leader of the team to step up and this matchup is going to be an intriguing focus, Pierce vs. Iguodala.

Pierce was strong throughout the first round of the Atlanta Hawks series up until he suffered a right knee injury in game four. His presence on the floor is pivotal, and in this series he has shown the Boston fans who the real “Truth” is. Since all eyes will be on Kevin Garnett, the 13-year veteran will have to take charge and command his troops to distribute the ball to the leader.

In game six, look for Pierce to have a 30-point night. The Inglewood native  has averaged 17.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game in the 2011-12 playoffs.

A.I. has been the new “answer” in Philadelphia this playoff series. The talented small forward has been the leader of his team on the defensive and offensive side of the ball. Iguodala has shot three pointers exceptionally well consisting a 52.6 percentage from downtown. His versatility to charge the basket is strong and no one will deny his path for a slam.

The seven-year veteran has posted 13.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
